For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been walking past this mushroom. It stood tall and regal, until time and the gardeners’ lawnmowers began to take their toll.
I’ve always been fascinated by mushrooms. I’ve never cared much for eating them, but they’re wonderful subjects for drawing and photography.
After a little research, I identified this one as Chlorophyllum molybdites, commonly known as the green-spored parasol or false parasol. It’s often found growing in lawns and meadows.
Mushroom, mushroom, mushroom. That’s my mantra. 🍄
I couldn’t find a quote I liked, so I decided to make up my own little refrain.
