Year of Photography

A year of noticing the little things.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out this page!

Mindfulness is about being present in the moment. I believe we can each make it our own by taking a little time for ourselves and noticing the world around us.

You don’t need a fancy camera to take photographs. Your phone is a great camera! There’s a common myth that you need expensive gear to be a photographer, but that’s simply not true. Photography is about how you see things, not how much your equipment costs.

I take most of my daily photos with my phone, although I do own cameras, too.

How to Keep and Share Your Photos

There are many ways to keep your daily photos and share them with others. It really depends on what works best for you and whether you want to share your moments with family and friends or with the wider world.

Day One Journal

I like the Day One journal app. You can add photos to your journal each day and, at the end of the year, create a lovely printed book of your memories.

FindPenguins

For travel photography, I like FindPenguins. It lets you document your journeys and create a book of your travel memories.

Photo-sharing sites

There are plenty of websites and apps where you can share your photographs. Some are great for sharing with family and friends, while others let you share your work with a wider photography community.

The important thing is to find what works for you. You don’t need to be on every platform or share every photo. Sometimes, keeping a photograph just for yourself is enough.

Find Your Inspiration

If you’re looking for ideas to inspire your photography, take a look at 365 Picture Today. They offer daily photo prompts to help you look at the world with fresh eyes and discover new things to photograph.

You can also share your photographs using the hashtag #365MindfulPhotos.

This is about taking a little time for yourself, slowing down, and noticing the details that might otherwise go unseen. You don’t have to take a photo every day, and you don’t need the perfect camera or the perfect subject.

Take a photo when you can, enjoy the moment, and remember that this is your own creative journey.

One moment. One photograph. A little more mindfulness.
