Week 2 – Window View

This is week 2 of your photo challenge and inspiration for this week’s photos is Window view.

I like the idea of using a window to frame a scene because it draws the eye in and isolates the subject.

You can use this technique in all sorts of photography,  such as a day in the life project.

I’ve also utilised this  technique with weddings and portraits. But instead of using a window I’ve swapped that up with a doorway or some sort of opening that allows me to see through to the other side, such as bush or an opening within a fence and that way I’m drawing attention to the subject on the other side.

Some ideas of photos to get you started are:

  • When you wake up in the morning. What is the first thing you see out your bedroom window?
  • How do you travel to work? Train, bus, car or ferry?  When you look out the window, do you see happy people? Do you see anything unusual or exciting?
  • When you look out the window at work. What do you see? Are you up high? Is you view blocked?

When posting on social media, use the hashtags #yop #yearofphotos so you can see what other photographers are creating.

Photo challenges as always better with a friend, so make sure you share this challenge.

I’m Mike from biblino.com, were you can find more tips and tutorials on photography.

That’s it for today. Go out and make some photos.
