Today’s walk was cold, grey, and rainy. One of those mornings when you just want to stay inside where it’s warm and cozy.

As I was walking home, I spotted a leopard slug (Limax maximus). I almost missed Limax because of how well the slug blended into the wet sidewalk.

Limax wasn’t in any hurry.

Watching this little creature reminded me that sometimes we need to slow down, too. In this fast-paced world, perhaps there’s something to be learned from a little slug taking its time.
