This is week 5 of your photo challenge and inspiration for this week’s photos is Texture.
To enhance a texture in a photo try using a light source from the side. The light coming from the side will create natural shadows enhancing the bumps and crevices.
Some ideas of photos to get you started are:
- If you have a telephoto, zoom in to show the texture of an object such as woven carpet, rug or even concrete
- If you don’t have a telephoto zoom then try photographing texture that is larger such as bark on a tree or gravel, the outside of a building.
- Skin is also another good one. Compare skin of a newborn to someone that is a lot older who has had a lot of time in the sun.
- Don’t forget about smooth textures. Tiles, metals and plastics
